Former NFL wide receiver Henry Ruggs III was convicted of murdering a woman and her dog in 2021

Former NFL receiver Henry Ruggs III, on trial since 2022 for murdering a young woman and her dog for drunk driving, was sentenced this Wednesday as guilty of the case.

Ruggs received his sentence on the manslaughter charge after he At the beginning of November 2021, he ran over Tina Tintor and her dog Max for driving his Lamborgini at over 150 miles per hour while intoxicated.

The guilty handed down by the jury indicates that Ruggs will have to spend between three and 10 years in prison in Las Vegas, Nevada, this after pleading guilty to the charges against him.

“The sentence will not bring Tina back. What we hope, more than anything, is that other drunk driving and reckless driving deaths can be prevented.. It ruins lives. It destroys families,” said Farhan Naqvi, the family’s lawyer.

The trial, which was widely covered in the press and on television, was also attended by Philadelphia Eagles catcher Devonta Smith.

The star and Super Bowl runner-up showed his support at all times for Ruggs due to their friendship dating back to the time they shared at the University of Alabama.

Ruggs is expected to begin serving his sentence in the coming days.when transferred to the penitentiary center by the corresponding authorities.
