It’s been a month and a week since the long-awaited premiere The Callisto Protocol from Striking Distance, the new game from Glen Schofield that feels like a spiritual sequel to Dead Space. Although the game was well received and has received updates after its release, unfortunately its credits they do not include everyone involved, a common problem in the industry.

Striking Distance is a studio founded in 2019 and they just released their first title with The Callisto Protocol, but unfortunately their release is bittersweet for some of those involved. Thanks to a report from gamesindustry we know that up to 20 former Striking Distance employees were omitted from the game’s credits, something that has them rightfully upset.

GI reports speaking to five former Striking Distance employees who worked as developers and were omitted from the credits, but one of its sources says around 20 people were omitted, spanning a variety of departments. So far Striking Distance has refused to give a statement on the matter.

One of the former Striking Distance employees who spoke to GI said he worked on The Callisto Protocol for a long time and it “sucks” to have been omitted from the game credits. “Just not being there at all sucks,” was how the developer put it. Another former employee says several major contributors were omitted, including people who worked at the studio for over a year and others who worked with Glen Schofield at his previous studio, Sledgehammer Games.

“I understand if a contractor does a small amount of work for months and leaves, but we are talking about full-time employees with more than a year invested in the title, and they had hands on significant parts of the product,” says one of the developers. , who says he was surprised to have been omitted from the credits, like other of his colleagues.

Another ex-employee says that there was definitely favoritism when it came to choosing the people who were credited in The Callisto Protocol, as his impression was that they just chose the people who are liked, and the ones who don’t get credits.

This is not the first time that a similar case has happened and it seems to be something common in the industry, because in 2021 the same thing happened with the launch of Metroid Dread for Nintendo Switch, when Mercury Steam omitted its former employees from the credits.
