Forspoken arrives on PS5 and PC in a few days and unfortunately, the game gives us very bad news. Players won’t like it.

When it was announced under the code name Project Athia, Forspoken dazzled us with its stunning graphics and dynamic and caustic animations. It was clearly inspiring. However, little by little, over its presentations, the game began to worry fans, and even more since the release of its demo which did not convince everyone. A few days before its release, the open world must therefore still manage to seduce players, but recent news is already likely to serve it.

Forspoken has made a choice that will not please PC

It has indeed been confirmed that the PC version of Forspoken will be protected by the particularly controversial anti-piracy software, the famous DRM Denuvo, as can be seen on the game’s Steam page. games it is supposed to protect.

The software is indeed often the cause of major performance and stability problems on a good number of games, such as Resident Evil Village or even more recently, The Callisto Protocol, and very often requires additional patches. Publishers love it, but gamers hate it. Unfortunately, Denuvo remains one of the safest ways to protect games against piracy and illegal copying.

Steam

However, it is worth noting that all games protected by Denuvo do not necessarily have performance issues and some do very well. So let’s give the benefit of the doubt to Forspoken pending its release on January 24th. The game will be available on PC and PS5.

As a reminder, in Forspoken, we will play a teenager, Frey, who will find herself in spite of herself embarked on a parallel universe plagued by chaos and magic. She will then have to use her own powers to turn the tide and survive. During her hectic travels, Frey will be accompanied by a particularly talkative entity, a magic bracelet hanging from her wrist. Entirely in open world, the game will also offer a very dynamic parkour and combat system.
