On the occasion of the night of doubt, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Wakfs has just announced that the date of Friday, April 21, 2023 will be that of Eid al-Fitr this year, thus confirming that the last day of holy month of Ramadan 2023 in Algeria, is today, Thursday, April 20, 2023.

Indeed, the date of the feast of breaking the fast of Ramadan 2023 has been formalized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Wakfs. After the “Night of Doubt” lunar sighting on Thursday, the Ministry confirmed the date of Friday, April 21, 2023 as this year’s Eid al-Fitr. Also specifying that the observation of this lunar crescent was possible in Mostaganem and El Oued.

In addition, it should be recalled that the National Commission for the Observation of the Lunar Crescent met this Thursday evening on the occasion of the night of doubt to determine the first day of the month of Chawal (1444 of the Hegira), which corresponds to the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

In addition, the date of the end of the holy month of Ramadan has been formalized by the Grand Mosque of Paris. After the lunar observation of the “night of doubt” on Thursday, the institution confirmed the date of Friday April 21, 2023 as being that of Eid el-Fitr of the current year, in France.
