On October 28, the news of the death of Matthew Perryknown for playing Chandler Bing in the famous series Friends. The actor died at the age of 54.

Police sources told TMZ what The actor was found in a Los Angeles area home after apparently drowning. According to informants, rescuers rushed to a call of cardiac arrest.

On the morning of October 28, Matthew had reportedly played pickleball for a couple of hours before returning home and sending his assistant on an errand. When his assistant returned, he discovered the actor in the hot tub and then called 911. More than a month later, the cause of his death has finally been revealed.

Matthew Perry died from the effects of ketamine

According to the toxicology report, shared by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office and obtained by TMZ, The actor died due to the acute effects of ketaminea drug used to treat depression and also as a recreational drug.

The outlet notes that Perry had taken ketamine infusion therapy for depression and anxiety a week and a half before his death. However, the ketamine he had in his system at the time of his death could not have come from that infusion therapysince the half-life of ketamine is 3 to 4 hours, or less.

According to the medical examiner, the ketamine in Perry’s system caused cardiovascular overstimulation and respiratory depression. The Factors that contributed to the actor’s death include he Drowning, coronary artery disease, and the effects of buprenorphinewhich is used to wean addicts off opioids.

No evidence of alcohol, cocaine or fentanyl was found.

The coroner I found no evidence of alcohol, methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, phencyclidine (PCP) or fentanyl.

On the other hand, although smoking is not listed as a contributing factor in Perry’s death, the report states that he smoked 2 packs of cigarettes a day. The actor had chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema and diabetes. Based on his interviews, the coroner noted that Perry was clean and sober for 19 months.

In his memoir, titled Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible ThingPerry delved into the painful chapter of his life related to drug and alcohol addiction.

The actor was addicted to Vicodin for years, even while he was on Friends, so he was in and out of rehab on several occasions. In her memoir Perry detailed the struggles she had, including her clear weight loss/gain on the show.
