The Internet specialist AVM has released a function update for the FritzApp Smart Home for Android – it is particularly interesting for owners of FritzDECT radiator controls and thus for the current heating season. In addition, experimental functions are tested.

AVM provides users of the FritzApp Smart Home for Android with a comprehensive update of the application. This is a function update, which means there are new features. The new version number is 1.11.0.

The innovations include a new status display for the FritzDECT radiator controller. The new display is inserted into the widgets on the home screen. There is also an improvement for the FritzDECT radiator controllers: Anyone who is already using a beta version of FritzOS 7.51 on their FritzBox can try out the new setup wizard when registering radiator controllers. Otherwise, regardless of the FritzOS version, the option starts that you can use the new app version to simply display the operating instructions for the respective smart home devices. AVM has linked all the corresponding devices in the app with the associated operating instructions. We have added the release notes for the app update at the end of this post.

There are no other changes, although AVM also writes that every update brings security-related changes and should therefore not be skipped if possible. The new versions are available immediately as an automatic update or via the app stores.

What can the FritzApp Smart Home do?

The FritzApp Smart Home serves as a remote control for all FritzDECT devices. With the application, everything from the setup, operation and changes in the smart home becomes easily manageable with just a few clicks. The updates are recommended to all users. For the Fritz network, some functions are only supported if the connected FritzBoxes use at least FritzOS 7.10. AVM asks users of the apps to send them feedback on the application in order to further improve the apps. Suggestions for improvement and feature requests are always welcome.
