Recently, the Judicial Chain Platform of the Supreme People’s Court launched a blockchain-based “electronic service document verification” service. Since December 29, all electronic documents received by the Supreme People’s Court through the unified service platform will support the verification of the authenticity of the electronically delivered documents through the judicial chain platform on the Internet.

The reporter logs on to the official website of the judicial chain to experience, selects the “electronic service document verification” in the data verification function of the judicial chain and uploads the file. For the electronic documents that pass the verification, the page will prompt “Verified”; for the electronic documents that fail the verification, it will prompt “The electronic service document has not been stored in the judicial blockchain” or “The electronic service document and the chain The comparison results of the stored evidence data are inconsistent”, and the verification cannot be passed.

It is understood that the service will be promoted nationwide in the next step, and eventually 100% “on-chain verification” of electronic service documents by people’s courts at all levels will be realized.

In recent years, as the Internet has changed people’s lifestyles, the trend of judicial electronicization has become increasingly apparent. Courts across the country have explored electronic service of litigation documents such as judgments, rulings, and mediation documents. However, due to the electronic form of electronic service documents, There are problems such as “easy to tamper” and “difficult to verify” documents.

Blockchain technology provides a new technical solution for this service. When the court issues a service document through the electronic service system, the characteristic fingerprint generated by the original document will be stored on the judicial chain platform as soon as possible. After receiving the document, the parties or social third parties can verify it online on the Internet side of the judicial chain. After the verification is passed, the judicial chain platform will return the verification information such as the deposit number, deposit time and verification results, so as to ensure the authenticity of the electronic service document and effectively solve the trust of the parties or social third-party institutions in the electronic service document question.

In May 2022, the Supreme People’s Court issued the “Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Strengthening the Judicial Application of Blockchain”, proposing to rely on the judicial chain platform to realize the ability to deposit and verify electronically served documents and further protect judicial documents authority.

In the “on-chain verification” scenario of electronically served documents, the Supreme People’s Court broke through the cross-network verification technology of massive heterogeneous data, enabling parties and third-party organizations to verify electronically served documents across networks on the Internet; Concurrent electronic data verification technology supports data batch verification and improves business response efficiency.

The People’s Court is the leader in judicial applications of blockchain. Since the establishment of the judicial chain platform in 2019, more than 300 courts have been connected, and more than 2.8 billion evidences have been stored on the chain, and the construction of innovative business scenario applications such as evidence verification, trusted operations, and smart contracts has been continuously promoted. It is reported that the people’s court judicial chain platform is provided with underlying technical support by ant chain.
