The Galaxy S24 will not be released before 2024, but Samsung is already starting to prepare its flagship. According to a new leak from a reputable leaker, Samsung is reportedly planning to replace the Galaxy S24’s telephoto lens with “new technology”.
Samsung is about to introduce the Galaxy S23 on 1er February 2023, but it is also already preparing the Galaxy S24 for 2024. The first leaks will not have waited for the release of the Galaxy S23 to arrive. The Galaxy S24 will obviously bring new features in terms of performance, but we must also expect improvements on the side of its camera. More precisely, the South Korean manufacturer would have planned to revolutionize the zoom of its flagship.
This information comes from the famous leaker “Ice Universe” known for the veracity of its leaks. According to him, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, i.e. the most high-end model, will replace the telephoto lens with a new technology.

Samsung will improve the zoom of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, but how?
We already know that the Galaxy S23 Ultra promises to be an excellent photophone with its new 200 Mpx sensor, but the Galaxy S24 Ultra will push the limits of photography even further. As Ice Universe tweeted, “ the Galaxy S24 Ultra should replace the telephoto sensor and adopt a new solution. I think the main camera will remain the same or be changed slightly “.
The leaker, however, did not give more details on this new solution. Samsung will be looking for a way to significantly improve the zoom offered by the Galaxy S24 Ultra, but how? The South Korean firm could be looking for a way to getting closer to traditional cameras with optical zooms more powerful. Only a few days ago, we also learned that LG is working on a compact 4-9x optical zoom camera module for smartphones. It could therefore be a similar technology, unless Samsung partners with LG for the development of its 2024 flagship.
While waiting to learn more about the mysterious new zoom of the Galaxy S24, it seems that the other sensors will be more or less identical to those of the S23 Ultra. Samsung could make some improvements to it, but apparently there won’t be any major new features.
