After much waiting, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 may be just a few weeks away from their official presentation. According to a new rumor, the duo’s presentation should take place in the second half of July this year, about 15 days before Samsung’s usual schedule.
The South Korean portal Chosun shared that Samsung’s new foldable devices should be made official in Seoul, South Korea, on the 26th of July – thus also changing the location where the event would take place, since the company has normally made the Galaxy Unpacked in New York or San Francisco.
One of Samsung’s ideas with this second Galaxy Unpacked of 2023 is to reaffirm its position in the market, after many other Asian manufacturers, as well as Google with its Pixel Fold, have entered this category. This still creates a greater distance between the launch of foldables and the new iPhone, which arrive a few weeks later, usually in September.
Everything indicates that, as in every Galaxy Unpacked, the new Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 will not be the only new products to be revealed, but they will still be the great highlights of the party.
What to expect from the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5?
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 should be the one with the biggest news, gaining a new external screen with greater use, taking up almost the entire upper back. On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 should not have visual improvements, maintaining the format similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 4, with three vertical rear cameras.
Both should gain performance enhancements, adopting the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, perhaps the same “For Galaxy” variant found on the three Galaxy S23 family devices. In fact, an important change would be in the fact that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is the first device in the Flip series to support Samsung Dex, according to rumors.
Now it remains to wait for a confirmation from Samsung, which could happen in the next few days, revealing the official date of the new Galaxy Unpacked.
