Good news for those of you who can’t get enough of Westeros. HBO Max – or just Max as they are called nowadays – has presented a new spinoff series in the form of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight. Collider reports that the series is based on series creator George RR Martin’s lesser-known collection of short stories Tales of Dunk and Egg. The stories follow Ser Duncan the Tall and Aegon Targaryen V and take place approximately 90 years before the events of the books of A Song of Ice and Fire.

Max describes the series as follows:

“A century before the events of ‘Game of Thrones,’ two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.”

HBO reaped great success last year with House of the Dragonwhich apparently made them willing to pursue more spinoff stories from Westeros.

There is no premiere date for the series yet.
