It’s time for the winter edition of Games Done Quick to start. The event, which is also held during the summer, runs from the 8th to the 15th of January and there will be a number of games played to raise money for charity. The purpose is precisely charity and it will be played around the clock, and just as the name suggests, it is speedruns that apply even if other things occur, such as completing selected games blindfolded.

Due to Covid, the event was moved online for a couple of years, instead of with an audience and for safety reasons, they have chosen to do so this year as well. They express continued concern about the pandemic but also concern about Florida’s, where the event was supposed to be held, aggression against LGBTQ+ individuals as a reason for not holding the event in place. Instead, all speedruns are streamed live.

It all kicks off with Splatoon 3 and is then followed by Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Other speedruns that take place are Bioshock, Goat Simulator and something as exciting as Power Wash Simulator with six players. All with the hope of completing the games as quickly as possible.

More information and schedule can be found at the website.

Last year’s GDQ brought in a whopping $3,442,033 million, which was a record and it will be exciting to see if they manage to beat that this year. Everything can be seen at the event Twitch channel and it starts at 5:30 p.m.

Will you have a look at this during the week?
