Do you already feel it? The weather is currently getting better every day, the coming summer will not be deterred by a few rainy days in between – and it feels like this is also reflected in the video games sector. If winter was packed with gritty horror games – Dead Space, Resident Evil, The Callisto Protocol – this installment’s games are often striking… sunny. Starting with our cover story, Atlas Fallen, the new game from the creators of the first Lords of the Fallen and The Surge 1+2, even takes us to a blazing desert landscape where a sun god holds the world in his sweaty grip. The second big preview theme – The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – takes us to a bright, beautiful Hyrule (even if it’s rather dark in the new Abyss area). In the test area, we stroll through wonderful California several times and enjoy the climate – at least when we mentally exclude the zombies in Dead Island 2 and the robotic dinosaurs in Horizon: Forbidden West – Burning Shores. As a contrast program, we are drawn into space three times in this issue – in EA’s shooter Immortals of Aveum we travel to a strange place
World between sci-fi and fantasy, in Everspace 2, freshly hatched from Early Access, we deliver space dogfights with our spaceship and in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor we again accompany Cal Kestis on his crusade against the empire.
