Games, games and even more games. Gamescom 2023 aspires to be the epicenter of a year in which we are already full of bombings and which still has highly anticipated releases to come.
A great event that takes over from E3 and the one that will not miss the great protagonists: Microsoft, Nintendo and the big companies have reserved something special for the great German video game fair. To all intents and purposes, a great world showcase for everything that is to come in which, logically, there is room for surprises.
What’s the plan? We start with what from Wednesday 23 to Sunday 27 August events, content, special trailers and highly anticipated announcements will be promoted. In fact, several companies have already advanced what they will bring to Germany during those dates. And in LifeExtra We have compiled it all in one place. Because, if the promise is fulfilled, it will be an event to remember.
All the ads? We want to offer you the most complete and exhaustive review, and that can only be offered in one way: along with what has already been announced, we will update our text as the date approaches and more participants, content and games are formed. But, we insist, we are also prepared for joys, surprises and the occasional loose date that more than one game has left to put.
Will we see Silksong? There are things with which it is better not to have illusions. With that being said, place your bets!
Without further ado, these are all the confirmed attendees to date for Gamescom, the video games they’ll be bringing and, just a little bit later, what we’d like to see as part of the Opening Night Live by Geoff Keighley which will take place on August 22nd. The obligatory appointments accumulate.
Xbox and Bethesda
Xbox and Bethesda plan to give it their all during GamesCom. To start with, they have already confirmed that their stand this year will be the largest in their history at the fair and that they will carry more than 30 own and third-party titles. What games are we talking about? Of course, Starfield will have a special weight, but we cannot forget about other bombs that will arrive throughout this year.
Nintendo
The Big N was the first to announce their presence at Gamescom. Even before The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was released. However, what it will take is a relative mystery: with the Pokémon Direct broadcast a week before the event, all eyes are focused on the four big games between now and next year: Super Mario Bros. Wonder, WarioWare: Move It!Super Mario RPG and Detective Pikachu: The return.

The lineup of games that Team17 will bring to Gamescom has been announced July 30th and among all the advanced titles, there is one that we have a special affection for: Blasphemous II, the pixelated action game set in the Spanish baroque (and made in Seville) leads a consignment of varied and powerful indies.

For some time now, talking about video games based on European comics is synonymous with Microids. The Japanese from Bandai Namco not only advance exciting surprises, but they set the bar very high with what has already been promised, including giving a special role to Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, its invaluable anime licenses and establishing itself more and better in the field of fighting. And be careful, they keep something related to Park Beyond.

HoYoverse
The increasingly ambitious Shanghai study will put all the meat on the grill in Germany carrying his four star titles and, we understand, news for all of them. Something that makes a lot of sense: what better season than summer to get hooked on or discover a great anime role-playing game?

Plaion’s case is truly unique and we hope to update its list of games shortly before GamesCom. We know that right now your attention is on the successful launch of Remnant II (one million copies in four days) and the beta of a PayDay 3 that will arrive in September. And we do not rule out a new preview of Echoes Of The End.
SEGA
The company of the supersonic hedgehog reserves surprises, but already advancement that will bring its best playable exponents from East and West offering platforms starring its Superstar, that Made in Japan role that we love, the return of the Yakuza saga and its next great shooter: Hyenas. Of course, keeping the occasional surprise under the top hat.
Ubisoft
We have to wait a little longer to find out about Ubisoft’s plans for GamesCom 2023 beyond RSVP, although they can be guessed with relative ease: we hope that Assassin’s Creed Mirage has the greatest role, and that it is supported by games as different as The Crew Motorfest, Just Dance 2024 and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. And who knows? Maybe we even see a little bit of Star Wars Outlaws and Skull & Bones appear.
What we’d like to see at Gamescom 2023
In addition to the above studios, we are expecting the participation of other very prominent partners such as Amazon Games, Focus Entertainment, Frontier Developments, Headup Games, Nexon, Pearl Abyss and Raw Fury. However, there are six games that have not been mentioned and that, through the Opening Night Live by Geoff Keighley, could appear throughout these days.
Death Stranding 2
Considering that Hideo Kojima always has some surprise for Geoff Keighley events, we almost have a new appetizer of his next big game. And who knows? The same to some of his other projects to be announced.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
PlayStation will be the great absentee at GamesCom, but Sony does not like to go unnoticed: at the previous Keighley gala it showed the biggest preview of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, its next big game for PS5. We want to see more!
Metroid Prime 4
Nintendo is preparing to close a 2023 to frame, but we have not forgotten the promise it made us seven years ago: where is Metroid Prime 4? For now, the launch of the remaster of the original game directs us to sooner or later we will see news.
Hollow Knight: Silksong
The sequel to Hollow Knight already and the commotion that is generated with each event has had its grace for years. Not anymore. We know that it will launch on Xbox Game Pass and we expect to play in 2023. It’s time to set a date.
