The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) managed to send an MS-13 gang member to jail for having extorted a merchant in the municipality of Santa Tecla, La Libertad. According to the tax investigation, Ramón Alexander Hércules Arrollo committed the act the first week of February 2022.

The extortionist came to the victim’s business identifying himself as a member of the MS, and demanded $10 dollars a week for rent; At the same time, he threatened to kill him and his family group, if he did not pay them.

The victim, fearing that the subject would carry out his threats, filed a complaint and thanks to the prompt intervention of the authorities, a police device was set up to deliver the money demanded and the gang member was captured.

The sentence of 13 years in prison was imposed by the First Trial Court of Santa Tecla, after the judge admitted all the probative elements of the charge against the accused, including testimonies, documents collected and the respective expert reports made by the Institute of Legal Medicine.
