FC Barcelona has not only been plagued by major financial problems since yesterday. One of the consequences: According to ‘Mundo Deportivo’, the Spanish league refuses to register the new contract for top talent Gavi. The 18-year-old must therefore continue playing with his current contract at least until the summer. The conditions will not change accordingly.
What will primarily entail monetary disadvantages for Gavi entails even greater risks for FC Barcelona. As the ‘Mundo Deportivo’ reports, Gavi’s current working paper will expire in 2024. And what is even more explosive: the midfielder’s release clause is now 50 million euros again. Barça had actually raised this to one billion euros in the course of the extension.
From now on, Gavi is again a more than interesting player for all top international clubs. FC Bayern and Liverpool FC, among others, have shown interest in the Spanish international in the past. For 50 million euros, Gavi would undoubtedly be an absolute top deal.
