The Freie Universität Berlin awards 205 Germany scholarships to students who are supported with their studies and an accompanying program with 300 euros per month. The university announced that the FU cohort of the nationwide gifted program exceeded 200 people for the first time this year. The federal government pays 150 euros for each scholarship payment, while the other half is borne by private individuals Founders: inside for the FU students.

The Deutschlandstipendium supports students “who distinguish themselves through their academic or school achievements and show special potential”. According to the program coordinators, the performance of the applicants is evaluated holistically during the selection process, i.e. not only awards and prizes but also practical professional experience and voluntary work are taken into account.

On February 9th at 6 p.m., the scholarship holders will be welcomed to Freie Universität as part of a festive event, which FU President Günter M. Ziegler will also attend. The next funding period for the one-year scholarships begins on October 1, 2023, and applications are expected to be possible from July. (tsp)
