The viewer magnet Every time we meet has, with its 13 seasons so far, captured a big place with many people in this country.
Music and strong stories are the very essence of the popular music programme. In keeping with tradition, seven well-known artists sing each other’s songs over a celebratory dinner every Saturday.
New versions
The song interpretations have often proved to be a hit with the guests of honor and the audience, and it is not unusual for them to have both a high tear factor and positions on the hit lists.
Who doesn’t remember when Vinni interpreted Halvdan Sivertsen’s “Sommerfuggel i winterland” in the first season or Maria Mena’s “I Need a Man” interpretation a couple of years back?
During this season, among others, Emma Steinbakken’s “Floden” interpretation, Isah’s version of “Alt du vil ha” and Freddy Kalas’ “Bare en mann” have become immensely popular.
See Steinbakken’s interpretation of “The River” in the video at the top of the story.
– Everyone must have their wishes fulfilled
Many may have scratched their heads over how the song selections take place in Hver gang vi møstos. Are the artists allowed to choose freely from the guest of honour’s catalogue? Will there be an argument about who takes which song?
TV 2’s press manager, Jan-Petter Dahl, informs TV 2 that the participants can request songs, and that there is collaboration between the editors and artists.
– The song selection in Hver gang vi mødres is a collaboration between the editors and the artists – who make requests about which songs they want to interpret. The goal is for everyone to have their wishes fulfilled, says Dahl.
If several of the artists would like to interpret the same song, it will be arranged as follows:
– If several artists want the same song, it is always resolved in dialogue with and between the artists, the press manager further states.
