Gigaset has presented its new Gigaset GX6 Pro business smartphone. The 5G model is advertised as “Made in Germany”, although the components themselves will of course continue to be produced in Asia, even if the mobile device was developed in Germany and is apparently assembled here. Among other things, the GX6 Pro should score points with resistance according to MIL-STD-810H and IP68.
Gigaset also vaguely promises “up to 5 years of software support”, which of course can mean anything and nothing for the actual duration. This only means security updates, not future Android versions. Initially, you only commit yourself to upgrades up to and including Android 14. Incomprehensibly, the smartphone is still delivered with Android 12.
You integrate a true triple slot design. So two SIM cards and one microSD card can be used in parallel. In addition, the back is easy to open, which means that not only the plastic cover but also the battery (5,000 mAh) can be replaced. The latter is charged with 30 watts by cable and 15 watts wirelessly. With Zero Touch and Team Viewer compatibility, IT managers can administrate the GX6 Pro.
The main camera of the Gigaset GX6 Pro is 50 (wide-angle, OIS) + 2 (macro) megapixels, while the front camera then has 16 MP. The LC screen is 6.6 inches and has a resolution of FHD+. The refresh rate is 120 Hz. The MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G was installed as the SoC. It is supported by 8 GB of RAM + 128 GB of storage space (UFS 2.1). Wi-Fi 6, 4G / 5G, NFC, GPS, USB-C, 3.5 mm audio and Bluetooth 5.2 are mentioned as additional interfaces.
In addition to the smartphone, the scope of delivery of the Gigaset GX6 Pro also includes a USB-C cable, instructions and a wrist strap. Business customers want to be lured with customization options for the back of the device, for example. If desired, the GX6 Pro can also come with pre-installed software – from its own start screen to predefined apps or details on device management to a selection of background images and ring tones such as the company jingle.
Availability and Prices
Gigaset sells its Professional portfolio through partners and does not publicly name a price, since it also depends on the quantities ordered and individual adjustments. Interested parties can now make inquiries and purchase the mobile device in black and gray.
