The European Union offered to China free vaccines against the COVID-19 virus to help the Asian country cope with the massive outbreak that they are registering the Chinese authorities after lifting the restrictions.

The initiative of the European Commissioner for Health, Stella Kyriakideswould have been carried out in the last few days, before a meeting of the EU Health Commissionwith the aim of organizing a European response to the wave of infections, as various officials have explained to the newspaper ‘Financial Times’.

In this way, Commissioner Kyriakides would have come closer to her Chinese counterparts, who they would not have given any response to the offer for the momentaccording to the source consulted by the aforementioned newspaper.

“The European Union is ready to offer its support, including expertise in public health and vaccine donations,” the commissioner said a few days ago through her profile on the social network Twitter.

“Global health threats require transparency, solidarity and coordinated approaches across borders. We need to work together to address the impacts of the COVID-19 situation in China,” Kyriakides explained.

The international community has asked the Chinese authorities for transparency, since they doubt the data provided regarding the numbers of deaths and infections.

Meanwhile, some countries have implemented controls for travelers arriving from China, since the authorities lifted restrictions due to public demonstrations against Xin Jinping’s ‘Covid Zero’ policy.

Chinese provincial hospitals such as Hebei (north), Shanxi (center), Hunan (center) or Heilongjiang (northeast) they canceled their new year vacation or work Extra hours to deal with the wave of COVID infections suffered by the Asian country, local media reported in the last few hours.
