Google will have funds for 2 million dollars to help game developers in Latin America

During the event held by Google in Brazil, the company announced a major investment for Latin America. In this sense, it was revealed that it will allocate a million-dollar sum of money to the independent game developers of Latma through the Indie Game Fund of Google Play.

The objective of this fund is to support and strengthen the video game industry in Latin America, a constantly growing market. Up to 10 will be selected developers or studios that have previously released high-quality games on any platform, as long as they have fewer than 50 employees. Each selected participant will receive an investment of up to 200 thousand dollars to promote the creation of new games.

The resources of the fund may be used both to improve existing games and to launch new titles on the Google Play platform, in case they are not yet available on it. In addition to economic support, the beneficiaries will receive technical support, training and follow-up in the game development process.

Games are expected to launch on Google Play Pass

As part of the deal, select developers will make their games available on the Google Play Pass subscription service. It should be noted that developers and studios do not have any type of requirement, such as Google’s share of the profits or part of the shares.

So far, Google has not disclosed the dates and regulations to apply to the program. Interested developers should stay tuned for more information on the selection process, which the company should reveal in the coming weeks.
