After an endless wait and a major leak, GTA 6 should finally be officially presented in 2023. A presentation which would occur two years before the launch of the game of the decade, a pattern already adopted by Rockstar for its old opuses.
Rockstar is actively working on GTA 6 since many years. And despite the publisher’s silence, the mystery surrounding its content has been partially lifted. In effect, GTA 6 was the victim of a huge leak, which is unprecedented in the history of video games. In his predictions for 2023, journalist Tom Henderson got wet. He believes “firmly” that 2023 will be the year of the announcement of GTA 6. So far, Rockstar has only confirmed that it is working on a new iteration of its cult franchise. The leaker recalls that he had already announced that GTA 6 would be released between 2024 and 2025, a release window he still strongly believes in.

In doing so, he explains that a presentation in 2023 would make sense since it would follow the game announcements made by Rockstar Games and Take-Two in the past. As a reminder, the publisher had announced its last two games, GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, two years before their respective releases. In other words, an announcement in 2023 would logically imply a release in 2025.
The leaker finally evokes the release date of 2024 recently mentioned by Microsoft which relied on an article from Bloomberg to support its point. Given the revelations and the scheme usually adopted by Rockstar, this does not seem plausible, according to the journalist. “Is a release announcement for 2024 possible? Sure. But Rockstar’s track record suggests the game will be pushed back a year anyway.”he explains.
