Although Pep Guardiola only extended his contract with Manchester City to 2025 in November, his whereabouts until the agreement expires is not set in stone. At ‘Sky Sports’ the successful Catalan coach clarifies: “A contract is just a piece of paper. If we feel like we’re fed up with each other, I won’t fulfill the contract.”

According to Guardiola, he does not want to copy well-known coaches who have stayed with a club for decades: “I keep saying I won’t stay as long as Sir Alex Ferguson or Arsène Wenger, that’s for sure.” Guardiola has worked for the Citizens since 2016. Ferguson coached Manchester United from 1986 to 2013, Wenger was Arsenal’s head coach from 1996 to 2018.
