Sébastien Haller is highly motivated to soon be on the pitch for Borussia Dortmund. In a media session during the training camp in Marbella, the centre-forward, who is suffering from testicular cancer, spoke about his long journey back to training.
“It’s the best feeling you can have. The only thing I can do is focus on the next day and try to stay fit and healthy. I’m doing my best to return the trust the club has placed in me.”said Haller (quoted via ‘Ruhr Nachrichten’).
Lightning comeback against Düsseldorf?
The ‘Bild’ reported on Monday that Haller could celebrate his comeback tomorrow in the friendly against Fortuna Düsseldorf (4 p.m.). According to the 28-year-old, however “A decision that we make together with the coach and the doctors. Of course, that’s a different kind of stress in games.” Nevertheless: “If I can play, I will play. There’s nowhere I’d rather be than on the pitch.”
Haller also has the Bundesliga restart on January 22 (3:30 p.m.) against FC Augsburg, for whom it is currently “very good” going, already firmly in sight. “Everything is possible. In my mind there are no limits. The only people who can stop me are the doctors and the coach. But I hope to be in the best shape I can be against Augsburg on January 22.”
