Harry and Meghan were trapped by a “kiss cam” during a Lakers game, causing them some embarrassment.

Members of the British royal family rarely have the opportunity to publicly display expressions of affection. Harry and Meghan, who attended a basketball game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday, were nevertheless trapped by a “kiss cam”, causing them some discomfort.

Particularly popular in the United States and Canada, “kiss cams” consist of filming a couple during sporting events, who then find themselves forced to kiss. Several onlookers present during the match captured this moment, which shows the prince’s embarrassment, while Meghan bursts out laughing.

The couple did not kiss on camera, but showed some tender gestures. Harry leaned over to his wife to say a few words. She then laughed, before stroking his arm. Harry then began to grimace, before the camera stopped filming them.

Rarely seen together in public

Harry and Meghan, who wed in 2018 before taking their independence from the royal family in January 2020, have rarely been seen together in public in recent years. Members of the royal family are bound by a strict protocol, which prevents them from publicly showing signs of affection.

Since the “Megxit”, the couple is however more free of its movements. During the funeral procession of Elizabeth II in September, they were able to hold hands during the procession, unlike the other couples of the royal family. They had also been able to hold hands a few days earlier during another funeral tribute.
