An act of vandalism whose perpetrator(s) remain unknown. During Christmas night, two snow guns located in the ski area of ​​the resort of Les Gets, in Haute-Savoie, were heavily damaged. Jérôme Scarabelli, technical director of the premises, indicates on BFMTV that several cables have been cut and tags affixed.

As reported France 3 Regions, a complaint was lodged with the gendarmerie of Taninges and the damage would amount to nearly 3000 euros. For the investigation, the police took several samples.

For the managers of the ski area, the situation is extremely complicated to manage during this school holiday period. Faced with the lack of snow, the damaged devices, which have not worked for several days, should allow users to ski despite everything.

“For us it’s very complicated, because we are the lowest part of the area and this year we are very short of snow. On one of the damaged devices, the logo of the now famous activist movement Extinction Rebellion (XR) was also painted. Contacted by France 3 Regions, the Annecy branch of the movement denied being at the origin of these degradations.
