The stupor over the shocking case of child violence that was revealed in La Plata still continues and the repercussions do not end. The violent event has as its protagonist a 17-year-old mother, who was recorded while she brutally beat her 1-year-old and 9-month-old baby and, as a result of the images, she lost custody of her.
In the last few hours, the little boy’s grandmother and mother of the accused teenager told details of what was happening at Melchor Romero’s house. “He told me that he hit himself on the chair and I told him ‘tell me the truth because I’m your mother’. And there he told me. That night they checked him at the police station and the first thing they did (from childhood) was to see that he had injured his gum and the diaper was dirty”recounted soniareconstructing the conversation he had with his daughter.
The little boy’s grandmother deeply regrets what happened and focused on the coexistence between the 17-year-old girl and her sister-in-law: “She told me that (the two of them) had already argued and she was going to go live elsewhere. She had already bought a box to leave but it was not convenient for her sister-in-law to stay there”.
After a brief release of her version in the case, the defendant’s mother revealed that her daughter has drug problems. “Everyone says no, it’s a lie, but they know that she was hospitalized because of drug use”he added in his testimony.
At the same time, she asked that the attacks on the rest of the people be investigated, since her daughter would have “two cuts in the back” for the alleged “blows previously received in the house where he lives.” Finally, he demanded that the authorities intervene because she is suffering harassment and through “true Facebook accounts.”
