Soldiers from the 7th Squadron Paso de los Libres “Cabo Misael Pereyra” of the National Gendarmerie seized 4,300,000 pesos in cash hidden in the cab of a general cargo truck that had left Posadas for the city of Chajarí, Entre Ríos.
According to the federal sources consulted, the procedure was carried out during the course of yesterday afternoon, Monday, in a control deployed on national route 14, at the height of the Piedritas tollbooth in the town of Mocoretá, Corrientes province. .
The troops managed to detect that inside the cabin the carrier had a nylon bag hidden among his clothing, which, according to what was stated, contained the million-dollar sum in cash.
“In the presence of skilled witnesses, the aforementioned bag was opened, verifying inside the total sum of $4,300,000 without documentation that supports its legal possession or transportation,” it was later explained in a statement.
The Federal Court of Paso de los Libres and the Human Rights Secretariat in charge of Ricardo Esteban Torres intervened, who, knowing the details, ordered that the rigorous actions be carried out as well as the kidnapping of the money found, continuing the driver released subject to cause.
