“Ma’am, your daughter is fine. She works with me selling lingerie, don’t worry. Now she doesn’t have a phone because it was stolen, but she doesn’t want to communicate with you either.

In these terms, an alleged “Jhon Torres” expressed himself via private Facebook message with Ramona Villordo (46), mother of Katerin Espíndola (23), a young obereña who has disappeared since April 15.

In its edition the day before, El Territorio published an interview in which the mother acknowledged that the girl is addicted to drugs and alcohol, while expressing her fear that she had been contacted by her ex-partner, whom she denounced last year. for gender violence.

Precisely, after the aforementioned note was released, Villordo was contacted by someone who introduced himself as Jhon Torres and said he was the young woman’s employer in a lingerie business.

The mother had the precaution of capturing the entire conversation, after which she appeared before the Oberá Fourth Section to file the corresponding complaint and record the communication.

In a dialogue with this medium, he indicated that “this person, who I don’t think has introduced himself with his real name, told me that Katerin is fine and that he does not want to communicate with me. She also said that her cell phone was stolen, but I really don’t know what to believe.

In the same chat, the supposed boss of the young woman gave her an address where she would be residing, so yesterday the parent decided to travel to Buenos Aires.

“I am going to see if it is true that my daughter is fine, but I have my doubts. If I do not find it where she told me, I will expand the complaint there with everything that the alleged Jhon Torres told me, ”she said before leaving for the Capital.

fear of ex

The last communication via WhatsApp between Katerin Espíndola and her mother occurred on April 15. Since then, the girl has not been online again or contacted her family or friends by any means.

In this context, as a first measure, an aunt of the girl filed a complaint with a police station in the Palermo neighborhood, in the city of Buenos Aires, which activated the search in that jurisdiction.

Villordo acknowledged that her main fear lies in the possibility that her daughter may have been a victim of her former partner, who has a history of gender violence and threats to the detriment of the young woman.

“Katerin has a serious addiction problem and her ex mistreated her a lot. She would take her phone, lock her up and hit her a lot. Last year she was able to escape and asked my sister, who lives in Buenos Aires, for help. Then the complaint was made and I brought it to Oberá, ”said the parent.

But the young woman continued to consume and that led her to extreme situations. It was so that her mother raised a judicial measure to admit her, which did not prosper.

“Justice turned its back on me and my daughter, since she is of legal age, returned to Buenos Aires.

My fear is that her ex has found her, because he always threatened to kill her and throw her in a black bag, as he said. I really don’t know if my daughter is alive or dead, ”she warned.

complex case

According to her mother, before she disappeared, Katerin Espíndola lived in the town of Vicente López, although she acknowledged that she never gave her an exact address and since last Saturday she has lost all contact.

She said that in January 2021 the young woman traveled to Buenos Aires for the first time, where they have relatives, with the intention of getting a job.

But far from getting her life back on track, what happened was that she met a man who subjected her to a nightmare of consumption and abuse, as the parent described.

“My daughter went to Buenos Aires in search of better opportunities and ended up with a person who hurt her a lot. She began to consume and suffered a lot of abuse. At first there were some indications, but she is in denial, until the situation did not give rise to more and she ran away, ”explained Villordo.

Last year, after the complaint of gender violence, the young woman returned to Oberá with her mother, but she continued to consume and the situation became untenable.

In this regard, she mentioned that “she was increasingly aggressive with her brother, with me and my partner. She had several episodes of drug and alcohol abuse and was hospitalized for an overdose. One day she attacked her brother, who is 13 years old, for which I filed a complaint and asked that she be admitted ”.

In any case, from the Family Court they argued that the law cannot force anyone to carry out a treatment that they do not want.

Thus, on March 7, the young woman returned to Buenos Aires; while her parent does not know if she had contact with her former partner.

“I feel very powerless because I asked for help and the courts say that they cannot force them to go into hospital, but it is not fair that they let a person die either,” she lamented.
