A 31-year-old man stole his employer’s truck, collided with another in the town of General Urquiza, and ended up hours later in custody in the city of Posadas.
According to what was reported by police sources, the event occurred last night on National Route 12 near the Ñacanguazú bridge, where a Mercedes Benz traveling in the Posadas-Iguazú direction collided with a Volvo which was traveling in the opposite direction.
The local police station became aware of what happened around 10 p.m. and quickly went to the site to verify the collision. Once at the scene, the agents observed both vehicles, of which according to the first inquiries, the Mercedes Benz collided with the left side-front sector of the Volvo truck and as a result of this, the first truck lost its way on the shoulder spreading bags of salt ore it was transporting, which caused the interruption of traffic.
Volunteer firefighters from Jardín América were present at the site, who transferred the occupants of the transports involved to the Santo Pipó Hospital. Hours later, a 52-year-old man from Posadas approached the General Urquiza police station claiming to be the owner of the Mercedes Benz, alleging that his employee, who works as a driver for said transport, stole the truck which was parked. in the Miguel Lanús neighborhood. In addition, he stated that he did not know the other two men who accompanied him and that what they were carrying did not belong to him.
For its part, the Investigating Court Two of Jardín América ordered the arrest of the accused, who went to the Ramón Madariaga Hospital accompanying one of his injured colleagues and for this reason, this afternoon the agents of the UR-X Investigation Brigade Division of Posadas they proceeded to arrest him, lodging him in a police unit at the disposal of Justice.
Meanwhile, the vehicles involved will remain deposited until the corresponding procedures are carried out.
