A 53-year-old gendarmerie non-commissioned officer will be tried in July in Brest for sexual harassment and death threats, the Brest prosecutor announced on Tuesday evening.
Placed in police custody on Monday at the gendarmerie research brigade in Chateaulin (Finistère), the soldier will appear on July 3 before the Brest criminal court.
He is accused of “repeatedly, remarks or behavior with a sexual or sexist connotation (…) by a person who abuses the authority conferred on him by his functions”, indicated the prosecutor Camille Miansoni to the press, without provide details about the victim. These include “comments” and “messages with a sexual connotation”, committed in Plourin-les-Morlaix (Finistère) between 2017 and 2023.
The soldier placed under judicial control
In addition, the gendarme is also accused of having threatened a man “several times” to kill him “if he hurt” the victim of this sexual harassment, between January and June 2020.
Placed under judicial control, the soldier is prohibited from going to the homes of his victims, from carrying a weapon and from exercising his profession as a policeman.
