“Delta has zero tolerance for unruly behavior on our aircraft and at our airports. Nothing is more important than the safety of our people and our customers,” Delta said in a statement.

Capt. Jason Rivarde, of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s office, said the man injured himself with a sharp object and “after doing so he grabbed the flight attendant; she sustained two superficial lacerations from the sharp object and was later treated.”

Later, Montgomery “was subdued by several passengers and held until agents arrived at the plane to arrest him,” he said.

“On a Delta Airlines flight 2432 from Atlanta to New Orleans, a disruptive man, identified as 39-year-old Nelson Montgomery, caused chaos as the plane was landing.

“A passenger was called to provide medical assistance to the male suspect, who was already bleeding from his neck. However, the situation took a dangerous turn when the suspect suffocated a flight attendant, put a piece of broken glass on her neck and threatened to hurt her by cutting off her head if anyone came near.

“In response, eight people collaborated to subdue the man until police arrived on scene. The police detained him for his actions during the flight, ”The Justice Team published on the X network.
