A 42-year-old woman suffered second-degree burns on different parts of her body when she tried to get her belongings out of a part of her house on fire. She happened in Puerto Iguazú and the victim was transferred to the Marta Schwarz hospital. The fire completely consumed the kitchen and dining room.

The incident occurred at 11 in the morning in the area of 2,000 Hectares, an area known as the San Lorenzo neighborhood. Volunteer firefighters went to the scene with two crews, however, it took them a while to reach the location because it was difficult to access and they had to be helped by a neighbor from the area who guided them aboard a motorcycle. He did the same with the 107 service.

The brigade members gave first aid to the owner of the place, Victoriana Z. (42), who, beyond the burns, suffered a blow to the leg.

According to sources consulted, the fire started in the kitchen where it was observed that there was a table, a wood stove, a microwave and work tools that were consumed by the fire as well as the structure. The main house was a few meters away and was not affected.

Since firefighters started a solidarity campaign seeking to gather collaboration for this family, those interested can contact 3757-542533. In fact, this afternoon they brought the first donations.

The Iguazú Volunteer Firefighters, 107 Emergencies and the Police worked at the site.
