In connection with the king celebrating 50 years on the throne, he is making trips through all the counties in Sweden. During his visit to Kalmar, he planted a tree and visited, among other things, Stortorget in central Kalmar.
– It is always nice to come to Kalmar. It’s been a long time since I last visited the city. Seeing how Kalmar looks today, with its beautiful streets and preserved buildings, is something I really appreciate, says the king to SVT Nyheter Småland.
Have built a Lego castle – “Fidgety”
It is on behalf of the County Administrative Board in Kalmar that children from the Makerspace & Uppfinnarna Kalmarsund association built various castles out of Lego. Some of the castles are copies of the royal couple’s summer residence Solliden on Öland.
– It feels both exciting and nerve-wracking to show this to the royal couple, August Bergenfeldt told SVT earlier.
In the clip below, you see the children building the castles.
