Will he now become a quota poison for RTL?

After the sexism scandal involving chief judge Dieter Bohlen (69) on the RTL show “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”, the ratings continue to fall.

Sad highlight: On Saturday, the quota of the new episode with 1.92 million viewers slipped below the two million mark for the first time with him as the head of the jury. Season low point!

Bitter for Bohlen: It’s not just a low for the season. But his worst DSDS rate ever! Its lowest tally was 2.7 million viewers in the past.

originally was Dieter Bohlen was brought back by RTL to the casting show “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” in order to push the sluggish quota back up. At first this plan seemed to be working.

The first DSDS episode of the anniversary season on January 14, 2023 saw 3.05 million viewers. That corresponded to an audience rating of 11.5 percent, which was a slight increase on the first episode of last season (2.65 million viewers).

But in the Bohlen episodes that followed, things have been going downhill almost continuously in recent weeks.

Certainly one of the reasons: In January, Bohlen insulted DSDS candidate Jill Lange (22) with the saying: “Did you do anything normal? Or did you just graduate and let yourself be noodled through?”

The sexist saying outraged many fans and brought the RTL show into disrepute.
