Hochul considers banning masks on the subway

Governor Hochul is considering banning masks on the subway due to growing concerns that some people are hiding their identities while committing anti-Semitic acts.

Hochul explained at a press conference that it is not yet known what the exact details of the rule would be, but that it would have its common sense exceptions, for health, cultural or religious reasons. Many people still concerned about Covid 19 and air pollution frequently use masks on the subway.

Hochul added that he is in talks with legislators about the possibility of drafting a bill in this regard.

The president explained that she felt moved to act after she learned that last Monday, a group of people wearing masks took over a subway car, scaring passengers.
