Hogwarts Legacy is every Harry Potter fan’s dream come true! For the first time you can explore a fully developed Hogwarts Castle and its surroundings. The developers made sure to stay close to the lore and to be as detailed as possible. For some, that alone is reason enough to pick up Hogwarts Legacy, no matter how the gameplay turns out. So that you don’t buy a pig in a poke, we set out with a map and compass to explore the most famous places in Harry Potter lore. Before we start, a small note: Of course, we largely do without story spoilers here, but if you really want to discover everything yourself, you should take the Floo powder and get lost now at the latest. And with that, welcome to our Hogwarts Legacy sightseeing tour.

Arrival & shopping opportunities

There are many ways to travel to Hogwarts. Either you take the broom, the flying carriage or you Apparate into the countryside. The castle itself has strong defenses and you can’t just teleport into the great hall. For most, however, the way leads by rail. If you take the Hogwarts Express, you will end up in the small, tranquil train station in the area. From there, a road leads to the surrounding area and of course to the famous castle.

Hogwarts Legacy: Sightseeing Tour

Of course, before we venture into the famous school of witchcraft and wizardry, we still have a few errands to run. Unfortunately, you don’t get the chance to visit Diagon Alley in London. Only a short visit to the wizard bank Gringotts is the players of Hogwarts Legacy (buy now / €53.99 ) allowed at the very beginning.

So for window shopping and school errands the best place is of course Hogsmeade! The village is just a few minutes’ walk from the train station and is in fact the only place in Great Britain where only witches and wizards live. Accordingly, one can practice the magic completely openly and that is what one does. People gifted with magic will find various shops there for their daily needs.

Dervish & Banges has magic paraphernalia, Magic Turnip has alchemical ingredients, Sweeper’s Sunday Outfit tailors some nice new clothes, and Tomes and Scrolls has…well, Tomes and Scrolls. There’s even a branch of Ollivander’s wand shop in Hogsmeade, in case you lose your wand or have a mishap like Ron Weasley once did.

But it shouldn’t just be work. In the small village there are also some shops for leisure. If you like playing pranks, you will probably find what you are looking for in Zonko’s joke shop. The shop is of course very popular with the students from Hogwarts. But be careful: You use it at your own risk and the professors at the academy don’t like it if you disturb the lesson.

The physical well-being is also taken care of. All those with a sweet tooth will be spoiled in the honey pot. There you can find everything your heart desires, from Berti Bott’s beans in all flavors to magical cotton candy. For a delicious Butterbeer and something hearty to bite, the best thing to do then is the Drei Broomsticks. There is always a cozy place for witches and wizards under the crooked roof, but other magical creatures are also drawn to the cozy pub. If you like it a bit more shady, you can of course also hike into a side street and pay a visit to the Eberkopf. If you’re not afraid of getting into trouble with bullies and drunkards.
