According to Bison Futé, the main difficulties are expected in Ile-de-France in the direction of departures on Friday and Saturday, as well as in the Rhone Valley in the direction of returns on Saturday.

Smart Bison sees green, with a few exceptions. According to the latest forecasts for nationwide traffic, the weekend of Friday April 21 to Sunday April 23 should be mostly smooth for French people hitting the road. In the direction of departures, only Ile-de-France – an area for which the spring holidays begin on Friday evening – is classified orange on Friday and Saturday. In the direction of returns, the Rhone Valley is also classified orange, but for the single day of Saturday.

Even if all the academies are affected by school holidays, and many family trips are planned, the situation should remain manageable because holidaymakers will leave at a slower pace, explains Bison smart. This should reduce the risk of congestion on the roads, reassures the body. For Saturday, however, it is advisable to avoid the A7 motorway, between Orange and Lyon, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
