A suspected grenade was found in Nauen (Havelland district). A man found an iron-like object in the Groß-Behnitz district on Tuesday and took it home, the police said on Wednesday. There he alerted the police and stated that it could be a grenade.
After the initial assessment, the officers who arrived called experts from the federal police. As a result, 19 residents were temporarily taken out of the building. Special forces carried out a controlled demolition of the object on a nearby field on Wednesday night. Nobody was injured. (dpa)
