Currently, hyper-convergence has become one of the mainstream construction models for data centers. However, as the digital transformation of enterprises accelerates, traditional hyper-convergence urgently needs to solve the three major problems of efficient integration of massive enterprise applications and IT infrastructure, wide branch and edge environment adaptation, and industrial cooperation models, so as to realize from equipment integration to application integration, from center to Edge, from single computing power to diverse computing power, and from single-vendor full-stack integration to software and hardware ecological openness.
Zhou Yuefeng, president of Huawei’s data storage product line, said that in order to cope with the above challenges, Huawei adhered to the concept of “leaving the complexity to itself and the simplicity to partners and customers”, and proposed the “hyper-convergence +” strategy, focusing on the three aspects of ecology, experience and business. In terms of ecology, Huawei has joined hands with partners to create a one-stop IT application solution integration platform – Huawei Blue Whale App Store, which is committed to making it as easy for partners and customers to use enterprise applications as using mobile apps, and to achieve rapid launch and stable operation of business systems . In addition, Huawei’s “Hyper Convergence +” will fully embrace a variety of computing power ecosystems to meet the needs of complex business scenarios for diverse computing power.
In terms of experience, Huawei has launched dedicated hardware for branch edges, which has been enhanced in terms of mains power access, noise control, and wide temperature adaptation to adapt to the complex environment of edge scenarios. At the same time, Huawei’s “hyper-converged +” provides full-service process automation tools that support “one-click” completion of device initialization, service launch, and O&M management to improve user experience.
In terms of business, Huawei’s “hyper-converged +” fully opens up its software capabilities and provides partners with three types of technical support: quality certification mechanism, hardware acceleration module, and delivery operation and maintenance tools, reducing the difficulty for partners to develop hyper-converged products. Huawei will also open up the hardware platform. Huawei will build the storage base, hand over the choice of computing components to partners, and help partners “building blocks” build computing storage products to achieve technology sharing and capability interoperability.
Under the “Hyper Convergence +” strategy, Huawei officially released the Huawei Blue Whale App Store, Huawei Computing Storage OceanStor 2910, and the new Huawei FusionCube hyper-converged infrastructure, including the FusionCube 1000 for data centers and branch edges that supports diversified computing power, FusionCube 500 for lightweight branch edges, FusionCube 8.1 for partners, and CubeSuite for enabling packages.
