Shortly after the dismissal of Timo Schultz, FC St. Pauli presented a new head coach. From now on, Fabian Hürzeler will take over the fortunes of the Kiezkicker. The 29-year-old has been working for St. Pauli since 2020, most recently as assistant coach of the licensed team.
Sports director Andreas Bornemann is looking forward to the internal solution: “We have examined various options and are convinced that Fabian is the ideal person for us in this situation.” The second division club does not provide any information on the contract period.
Hürzeler gained his first spurs as head coach from 2016 to 2020 at FC Pipinsried in the Bavarian regional league. As an assistant coach, he initially looked after the German U20 and U18 national teams before joining FC St. Pauli.
