"I don't feel ready": Giannis Antetokounmpo resigned from the Greece national team weeks after the Basketball World Cup

The basketball player Giannis Antetokounmpo, star of the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA), announced this Thursday his resignation from the Greece team two weeks before the start of the 2023 Basketball World Cup in Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines.

In a statement shared on his X social network account (formerly Twitter), the two-time NBA MVP He assured his “passion and love” for the Greek team “has not changed and will never change”but he said he did not feel “ready to compete at the level I need to participate in the World Cup.”
