Chilpancingo, Mexico.- Bonifacia Mendoza Ortiz, who was stabbed to death, was threatened several times by Israel Morales Velázquez that if it wasn’t his, it wouldn’t be anyone’s.

The femicide occurred in the Nahua community of Ayahualtempa, Municipality of José Joaquín Herrera, in the Montaña Baja de Guerrero, a highly marginalized region in the country.

Bonifacia was 32 years old and left an 8-year-old girl as an orphan.

The commander of the Community Police of the Regional Coordinator of Community Authorities of Founding Towns, Antonio Toribio Gaspar, reported that the indigenous woman’s body was located on April 19, one day after her murder.

Initially they arrested Misael Bolaños, the young woman’s boyfriend, who verified that he had nothing to do with the homicide and, in addition, provided information that the probable person responsible was Israel, since Bonifacia told him about the harassment and warning: “If you are not for me, you won’t be for anyone”.

Now, Israel is a fugitive and residents and community police are looking for him in the neighboring towns of Ayahualtempa and in the hills to hand him over to the State Prosecutor’s Office.
