Diego Cesar Brítez (38) died in the last hours after being hospitalized for about six days in serious condition as a result of the stab wounds he received in a confrontation that took place last Sunday in the heart of the Bicentennial neighborhood of Puerto Iguazú.

His death was added to that of Jonathan Fernández (30), who died in the same way and in the same lawsuit. In parallel, it complicated the procedural situation of Juan David L. (28), known as Chito, who is the only detainee who has the case.

But in the middle of the investigative work, a couple of blocks away, they were alerted to the discovery of Brítez, with injuries, also lying on the ground.

The latter was located a few meters from Juan Pablo Segundo avenue and when examined, the doctors who treated him detected that he had a cut on his ear, another stabbing injury to one of his lungs, as well as cuts on his chest and other similar ones on the head. armpit, for which he had to be urgently referred to the local Samic hospital, where he was in serious condition until he finally died today.

Last Wednesday Chito, the main suspect, was located during a police operation carried out in a house in the Police District, in the 2000 Hectare area.

The arrest occurred after the testimony of the mother and a sister of the second fatality, as well as a friend of the defendant to whom the latter allegedly confessed to having hit someone for family reasons.

Apparently, according to police sources consulted, Chito would have argued with Brítez, who is the brother of his former partner. It was in this context that the attacks occurred.

In the possession of the defendant, the police seized clothing with blood stains. He continues to be deprived of liberty at the disposal of Investigating Court Three.

“He was a family man, he had his defects like all human beings, but he was an educated, kind, easy-going man, with a heart full of humility,” said Ana, Jonathan Fernández’s mother.
