BFM TV INFO – After a decision to be taken back to the French border remained unanswered from Paris, Hassan Iquioussen will be taken back to the Moroccan border by the Belgians.

What will happen to the preacher Hassan Iquioussen, considered undesirable on European soil? According to information from BFMTV, the imam born in France but of Moroccan nationality, will be returned to the Moroccan border. This follows the status quo from France, which remained silent at the request for care by the Belgian authorities.

On November 15, Belgium issued a decision for the imam’s “deportation to the French border”. But this request for support “has not been the subject of any response” from France.

Avoiding an “unreasonable” detention period

“In order not to prolong the detention of Hassan Iquioussen unreasonably, the person concerned will be returned to the Moroccan border”, explain the Belgian authorities in a decision handed down on December 16.

“France’s objective is for Hassan Iquioussen to remain outside the national territory and be returned to Morocco,” a source familiar with the matter told AFP earlier. Contacted by BFMTV, the Ministry of the Interior said it did not wish to comment.

But it is still necessary that Morocco delivers to Belgium the consular document allowing such a removal. This summer Rabat had refused to grant Paris the “pass” demanded after the expulsion order issued by the French authorities. For his part, Hassan Iquioussen disputes the prospect of a deportation to the French or Moroccan borders and multiplies the appeals, for the time being remained in vain.
