A new report suggests that Apple’s iPhone 16 will receive the new A17 Pro chip.
Next year’s iPhone generation will of course receive another upgrade. Apple plans to use the improved version of Apple’s A17 chip, which was introduced yesterday, for the basic version.
Upgrade in the manufacturing process
This will be produced using TSMC’s N3E manufacturing process. The current A17 in the iPhone 15 Pro uses the N3B process, which already provides a significant performance boost. In addition, 8 GB of RAM should be integrated instead of 6 GB of RAM.
The RAM capacity will follow in 2024
The improved process increases efficiency – and essentially makes the iPhone 16 a smaller, cheaper version of the iPhone 15 Pro, just a year later.
The Pro iPhones received the RAM upgrade this year. Whether the iPhone 15 will also receive the new periscope lens for better zoom has not yet been leaked.
