In prison, a man who would have assaulted his pregnant ex-partner in Lares

The Utuado area Domestic Violence Division and the Department of Justice filed criminal charges Friday afternoon against Daniel Caraballo Cuevas, 24 years old, for allegedly assaulting his pregnant ex-partner on July 26 in the town of Lares.

According to the investigation, the defendant allegedly had an argument with the female over the keys to her car, and immediately afterwards, he assaulted her. The complainant is four months pregnant. After the altercation, she was treated at the Lares Diagnosis and Treatment Center (CDT). It was learned that her condition is stable.

The case was presented before Judge Melissa Santiago, of the Court of First Instance of Utuado, who, after hearing the evidence, determined the cause for domestic violence (aggravated abuse) and set a global bond of $30,000, which she did not provide, therefore who was admitted to the Bayamón jail.

The preliminary hearing was scheduled for August 9 of the current year.
