Targeted by several complaints and accused of fraud, the influencer living in Dubai is now deprived of his account, in the same way as his companion.

It finally took significant media coverage and dozens of complaints for Instagram to decide to sanction Marc Blata (Marc Singainy Tevanin, his real name), an influencer with 4.2 million subscribers on the platform to date. On January 26, the subsidiary of the giant Meta (also owner of Facebook) announced the deletion of its Instagram account, in response to a tweet published by a group of victims of influencer scams.

“The rules of our platforms are clear and prohibit fraudulent and misleading content intended to mislead our users. We have deleted the Instagram account in question, along with a series of others, for violating these rules” announces the company, in response to the collective Aid to victims of influencers (AVI), questioning the practices of Marc Blata.

The latter is the subject of the collective action, which brings together 88 complainants, for fraud in an organized gang and breach of trust in an organized gang. The influencer is notably accused of having disseminated scams based on fraudulent financial products – such as NFTs, or even through misleading trading advice.

With BFMTV, Instagram announces that it has deleted the account of another controversial influencer: Laurent Correia, known under the pseudonym Laurent Billionaire. The platform, however, did not wish to communicate the number of sanctions taken in the past against influencers who have distinguished themselves by the publication of scams.

“We want our community to have positive and safe experiences on our apps, and have clear rules against people who try to use our services to abuse others. We take strong action and dedicate significant resources to identify and remove this content and those who publish it. Our teams have removed a series of accounts violating these policies and remain determined to continue their work to remove content and accounts that violate our rules “, however, assures Meta, with BFMTV.
