But now a disturbing rumor has emerged that suggests that the Cupertino boys would have an ace up their sleeve.
And it is that we have witnessed in recent years how the regulations imposed by the European authorities finally seem to have paved the way for the USB-C port to be established as the new universal connector for all types of smartphones regardless of their mobile operating system.

So a firmware could be run so that any iPhone with a USB-C connector can immediately recognize whether or not the cable is original from Apple.
With this, the company could restrict the interactions that the smartphone could have with other devices or accessories outside the owners created and sold by the firm.
Although this is mere speculation and there is no certainty about what kind of restrictions Apple could impose. Although months ago there was talk of conditioning the transfer of files at high speed only for the Pro and Pro Max models.
The key point will be to see what the company does with support for USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3 specifications when it implements USB-C ports.
