"It serves as a garnish with coffee water"

A video circulating on social networks shows a Cuban in the US saving some bottles of liquor with the intention of filling them with water and a little coffee to simulate rum and use them as decorations.

This shows an old custom acquired by those born in the Caribbean country of recycling and reusing old containers, which were then placed in display cases simulating being filled with alcoholic beverages.

The influencer Lianet Martí shared in Instagram the video that shows his mother, determined to fulfill the old Cuban ritual, rescuing two bottles of liquor from the trash and expressing that will fill them with water and a little coffee.

I still have something of Cuba left”said the mother, very determined to give the bottles a new use.

Tell me that you have a Cuban mother, without telling me that you have a Cuban mother“said the young Martí who tried, without results, to throw the containers in the trash.

In the comments section, many people agreed that it really is a old custom acquired and transmitted in several homes in Cuba.

One of the people said that in Venezuela and Paraguay, in some homes it is done the same.

Others pointed out that outside Cuba they have maintained that and other customs.
