Meeting up with old friends is really special. You reunite with the comrades of the past, that group of crazy people with whom you lived so many adventures when you were young that you can no longer remember them all. So what better way to celebrate than with a few rounds of pints of beer?
That is precisely what Gary King thought, the character played by Simon Pegg, who decides to take his old friends to his hometown, Newton Haven. There is what is known as the Golden Mile, an alcoholic route that consists of drinking a pint in the 12 places in the town in a single night. However, not everything is so simple in Welcome to the end of the world.
Gary is hopelessly nostalgic about his youth, and the rest of his friends have turned away from him because he doesn’t take any responsibility for his life. Through a hilarious comedy tone, we will see how little by little the yellow magical concoction will begin to affect them, but everything will go wrong with one of the most unexpected script twists of the cinema.
Nick Frost, Martin Freeman and Rosamund Pike are some of the most recognizable faces in Welcome to the end of the world. Actually, we are talking about the end of a trilogy (Zombies party (a night… of death) and fatal weapon) in which Frost and Pegg always participate under the direction of Edward Wright. Don’t worry though, as all of them are independent and you don’t need to see the previous ones to enjoy.
